What is dyscalculia?

Dyscalculia is a specific learning disorder characterised by difficulties in the correct acquisition of mathematical knowledge.

It has a prevalence similar to dyslexia, between 5% and 7%.

Early diagnosis reduces the risk of poor maths performance and facilitates the effectiveness of treatments.

However, having difficulties in maths does not mean having dyscalculia!
